I chose to get involved with ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) and become a member of the ISTE Community NING. This organization has over 18,000 members and lots of ways to connect to other education professions.

I am a member of the Delaware Digital Learning Cadre. At our meetings I have heard many of education technology specialists talk about the wonderful resources available to the members of ISTE. So, I became a member.
I chose 5 profiles to examine. Some of the profiles were vague and some of the individuals didn’t have many posts or real time involved in the community. I didn’t follow these. The people I did choose to follow had specific profiles listing their expertise and jobs, had useful information in their postings list upcoming seminars, webinars, or recent governmental involvement with educational technology, linked to other social media profiles and were involved in the PLN’s through the site.
